Sustaining racial justice in learning with Dr. Jamila Lyiscott

The Office of Teacher Development, in partnership with Dr. Jamila Lyiscott, proudly presents "The Racial Politics of Pandemic Pedagogy: Sustaining Racial Justice in Learning." This collection contains five professional learning modules modeled after the 5 A’s (Awareness, Agency, Actualization, Achievement, and Alteration) of Dr. Lyiscott’s Liberation Literacies Pedagogy. Through a blend of videos, interactive worksheets, and supporting mixed-media resources, educators will be supported in developing critical cultural competencies for sustaining equity and justice in teaching and learning.

Please note that throughout each module, it is essential that you engage in all texts, activities, and reflection on a personal level before you begin to implement a Liberation Literacies approach into your pedagogy. Each module is adaptable for both you and students, but personal development must precede pedagogical impact.

Consider this resource to support professional learning on racism and civic education.
