Effective teachers monitor and assess student learning during the lesson to ensure all students are engaged throughout the teaching. This set of resources supports teachers in developing their practice in this component.

In this professional learning activity, participants review and discuss a selection of student self-assessment strategies and determine which self-assessment strategies would best support student learning in a specific lesson.

In this professional learning activity, participants will define the elements of effective feedback for students through a discussion of "Seven Keys to Effective Feedback" by Grant Wiggins. Participants will also give one another feedback on their feedback to students.

In this video, members of a school community model the “TAG” peer feedback strategy and explain how it supports student engagement and ownership across all grades and content areas.
