This Teacher and Parent/Caregiver Discussion Guide was created by Dr. Lexx Brown-James to accompany Grade Kindergarten, Lesson 3 of Growing Up and Staying Safe: New York City K-12 HIV Education Curriculum. Dr. Brown-James is the author of the book These are my Eyes, This is my Nose, This is my Vulva, these are my Toes. She developed this guide to help teachers, parents, and caregivers engage students in further discussion around body parts, bodily autonomy, trusted adults, hygiene, and respecting differences. This guide provides thoughtful questions to accompany each page of the book.
