Parents and puberty: Helping families communicate about developmental milestones
This folders contains resources related to an information-and skills-based workshop developed in collaboration with Planned Parenthood of New York City. This workshop can be facilitated by school staff (parent coordinators, guidance counselors, teachers) to help parents learn about puberty and menstrual products; correct misconceptions about the menstrual cycle; learn communication skills to foster conversations; and receive resources for information and support. Please contact the Office of School Wellness Programs' Health Education team with questions or to obtain training and support at healthed@schools.nyc.gov.
