WeTeachNYC Classes & Communities provide NYC teachers and school leaders with an online space where they can engage in online classes and blended learning communities with their colleagues.
Currently, access to communities is limited to participants in specific NYCDOE programs.
The Office of Postsecondary Readiness' College and Career Planning Newsletter provide monthly cutting-edge college and career resources and updates for school-based staff to better prepare students for life beyond graduation.
2017 OPSR College and Career Readiness Toolkit can be used to strengthen college-and-career going cultures in schools using The College and Career Readiness domains from the foundation. The self-assessment functions as an inventory of your schools’ assets and areas of development to help evaluate how strong your college and career readiness foundation is in a given year. The timeline can be used by staff (who work closest with students) to achieve key activities in each grade band of high school. The college & career planning calendar represents citywide efforts in key college planning milestones in a given school year. And finally, the Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP) tool can be used to tell your school’s college and career readiness story in the context of the Framework for Great Schools.
2016 Understanding FAFSA: A How-To Guide for High School Students (And the Adults Who Help Them) is a guide designed to help students and families navigate the U.S. Department of Education’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in their quest to get financial aid for college. The guide is especially targeted for students who are among the first in their family to go to college, or are new to the country.
Office of Postsecondary Readiness (OPSR)'s Planning for Success: Supporting Transitions through High School to College and Career is a parent guide developed by a team of parents, includes practical advice and strategies for navigating college and career choices after high school. This resource includes suggestions and tools to strengthen parental involvement and help prepare them to make informed decisions relating to the full range of college and career opportunities available for students after graduation.
Office of Postsecondary Readiness (OPSR)'s 2015 College Planning Handbook provides key information to support students with applying to colleges, obtaining financial aid, and making the transition from high school to college.
