Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeships Pathway Pilot
Chancellor Banks has outlined a bold vision grounded in career-connected learning as key to activating student passion and purpose and reimagining the educational experience for NYC Public School students. The promise of career-connected learning is that students graduate with academic excellence integrated with real-world skills and experience, a head start on college and career, and a strong plan toward a path to a rewarding career and long-term economic
security.
In addition to FutureReadyNYC and Computer Science for All, the Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeships (CRMYA) Pathway Pilot is a key investment to ensure each student reaches long-term economic security. A modern youth apprenticeship pathway is a multi-year commitment where students integrate time between school, advanced training (early college credit and/or industry-valued credential) and paid work to gain skills and experience in the career fields of their interests. As part of a landmark public private partnership, NYC Public Schools is partnering with the New York Jobs CEO Council and CareerWise NY to implement CRMYA.
