Secret codon science task
Exploratorium's "secret codon" activity asks students to write a message in DNA using pony beads and an amino acid codon table (provided). Students use the one-letter abbreviations for amino acids to make a secret message that will give new meaning to the description of DNA as beads on a string. Recommended for Advanced Placement 8th graders, 8th graders doing Living Environment Regents or any high school class doing Living Environment Regents.
