Nested boxes (geometry)

In this unit, students make connections between algebra and geometry by using equations of lines and Cartesian coordinates to prove geometric properties. Students will determine whether lines are parallel or perpendicular by means of slope calculations, prove polygon properties (e.g., whether a triangle is isosceles, right, or scalene; parallelogram properties, etc.), calculate area and perimeter using coordinates, and use distance to divide segments proportionally and determine the coordinates of those divisions.
