National Voter Registration Day materials

On September 25, 2018, the New York City Department of Education, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office, will support our young people in joining a major March for Our Lives effort: a national, bipartisan youth voter registration drive at high schools and college campuses across the City.

The citywide activism that followed the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last February was a strong example of how student voice can change the course of history. Since March, our students have mobilized to turn heartache and grief, into advocacy. Now, our role is to support students to walk into voting booths, to walk into their elected official’s office, and to walk in lockstep as allies around issues that affect them, and, in turn, affect all of us.

This Civics For All collection includes a Resource Guide and a Civic Engagement Pledge form to support the citywide civic engagement initiative.
