Robotics: Unit 2 - Grade 6

This is the second Unit in Grade 6 robotics. This unit introduces different types of sensors in the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 and how they work.  Students will also learn how to create logical programming statements by using loops, booleans and conditionals.

Unit overview for Grade 6 robotics: Unit 2- Creating a system that interacts with the physical world

This is the first learning activity in Grade 6 robotics: Unit 2. This activity will help students understand how sensors work in a robotics system. Students will also learn the different types of EV3 sensors.

This is the second learning activity in Grade 6 robotics: Unit 2. In this activity, students will learn how to use the “Flow” block to program their robot to perform different actions under certain conditions. The “Flow” block helps design and determine the program flow.

This is the third learning activity in Grade 6 robotics: Unit 2. In this activity, students will learn about booleans (true/ false), conditionals (if/ else) and loops and apply these concepts to a program by using the Loop and Switch blocks.

This is the fourth learning activity in Grade 6 robotics: Unit 2. This learning activity shows sample final project challenges for students who have done all the learning activities but need more practice to utilize the skills that they have learned.

This is the fifth learning activity in Grade 6 robotics: Unit 2. This learning activity shows the framework of how to lead the advanced final project challenge for students who have finished all of the learning activities and became very comfortable with building, modifying and programming their robot.
