This collection contains resources for the CSTEP Playbook: Energy Efficiency. It is designed to support middle school teachers in designing and carrying out projects that investigates the climate change issue of energy efficiency in New York City and other urban areas. It is a part of a series of playbooks that were developed by New York City Department of Education teachers and staff members from external partner organizations in the 2020-21 school year.

In this webinar, viewers will learn about why assessing and improving energy efficiency in New York City buildings, including schools and homes, is an important step that we can take to reduce carbon emissions and slow the rate of climate change. Participants will learn about how energy efficiency is assessed, will explore strategies for measuring energy efficiency in local buildings, and will learn strategies to help students take action to improve energy efficiency in their communities.
