Edible gardening

This collection contains the CSTEP Playbook: Edible Gardening and a video of an accompanying webinar. Edible Gardening resources support middle school teachers in designing and carrying out projects that investigate the climate change issue of energy efficiency in New York City and other urban areas. It is part of a series of playbooks that were developed by New York City Department of Education teachers and staff members from external partner organizations in the 2020-2021 school year.

This webinar walks viewers through different types of gardens that students can design and build to cultivate edible plants, such as vegetables or herbs. It also provides guidance on implementing an edible garden project in your classroom or school community. Finally, the webinar also connects gardening to its role in mitigating climate change.
