In this professional learning activity, participants reflect on a teacher receiving feedback from students and discuss how this model of feedback could positively impact instruction and levels of trust in a classroom. Then, they will develop a plan to implement and respond to a cycle of student feedback in their own classroom or school environment.

Through engaging in this professional learning activity, participants will distinguish between a fixed and a growth mindset and identify one to three next steps to fostering a growth mindset in their students.

Through engaging in this professional learning activity, participants will develop a student survey that they can use to formatively assess their classroom environment.

In this 45-minute professional learning activity, participants will watch a video titled “Encouraging Students to Persist Through Challenges,” in order to make connections between Components 2a and 3c of the Danielson Framework for Teaching. They will then brainstorm ways the strategies shared in the video might be applied in their own classroom contexts.
