It includes resources that describe their practices and structures, sample student work materials, protocols, templates, and other supplemental resources to support educators in building these math discussion practices in their own work.

This packet, created by PS 294 The Walton Avenue School, contains resources that describe and support the use of the Five Practices for Orchestrating Productive Math Discussions. This includes a flow map of teacher actions and decisions at various points throughout the five practices, as well as resources the school has developed to support implementation of each of the specific practices.

This video, created by educators at PS 294, the Walton Avenue School, features interviews and classroom footage that demonstrate how the "Five Practices for Orchestrating Math Discussions" work at PS 294. Teacher interviews provide insight into the teaching structures and decisions that make these practices function in their classrooms. Footage of children in partner, small group and whole class conversations provides a sense of what classroom conversations sound like and look like when utilizing these practices. This video is a useful complement to the document packets also included in this collection.
